Anand is the administrative centre of Anand District in the state of Gujarat, India.

Anand is known as the Milk Capital of India. It became famous for Amul dairy and its milk revolution. This city hosts the National Dairy Development Board of India and Anand Agricultural University. Another well-known product of the city is Anand - Vidyanagar and Karamsad, an educational suburb of Anand.

It enjoys pleasant climate almost throughout the year. Anand is well connected with other important cities of country by rail. The nearest airport is Baroda and Ahmedabad. It is 40 Kms and 65 Kms. away from Anand respectively.

Besides 24 University Postgraduate Departments, Anand - Vidyanagar (also known as VV Nagar) has many Charitable Trusts running colleges, affiliated to the Sardar Patel University. The oldest of these is CVM (Charutar Vidya Mandal). With the new dimension of disciplines emerging, CVM also expanded to the New Anand - Vidyanagar. The University has been the strongest candidate for becoming the only Central University in Gujarat.
